Weather — Sunny, low 78 and high 95. The same old dog‑days heat dome where I am being very mindful of the heat advisories. Since I didn’t have any early‑morning spraying today, I was able to start a high‑intensity chore while it was still “coolish.” I try to balance easy chores with hard ones, doing
Weather: Low 76°F — High 98°F — Sunny A heat dome is sitting over Tennessee until next week, with no rain in sight. The days are getting shorter, and honestly, I think the plants are loving the shorter daylight during this heat wave. I arrived at the Pickle Patch before dawn, which is getting close
This week is going to be hot I guess you can call it the dog days of summer. And wouldn’t you know it we loss power for 1 1/2 hours. For some reason when we lose power I call to report it and I am always the first one to report, so the power company
Today I could tell it was going to be hot, as the low was 76°F and there was a heat advisory with the heat index expected to reach 107°F. I was at the patch in record time, since on weekends it’s okay for me to take the highway. Why? Traffic — and I don’t want

Our last cool day and then we start getting back to our August norms somewhere in the 90–100°F range. A “cool” front has been hovering over us for 3 days. It was so delightfully cool at the gardens that I feel I can tackle all my chores in one day. Sunny — Low 67°F, High
After being gone just one day, I thought my garden would be safe from diseases as I sprayed the June and April tomatoes six days ago with the copper fungicide. My thinking was that the garden just got some rain, not enough to completely take the shield off. Boy, did my gardens get rain —
A beautiful overcast day with lower humidity. The weather reporter mentioned a cold front moving in with a chance of thunderstorms. The low was 71°F and the high reached 91°F. Before I could log any of my garden time, my grandson and I were out shopping for his school supplies during the tax‑free weekend. We
